      About KingQueen

That summer she went to Sweden for a three week recording session. But it wasn’t good enough. It was a surprise because everyday, Sabrina sounded and looked better. We had to wait. Sabrina went back to Los Angeles and had her last round of not being nice to herself. And a month before she took leave of absence from school in September, she got sober. She went back to re record the EP Fashion Core and to shoot a music video for her first single. “Luv Drug” Sweden, September 2009, 4 cold months. Struggling with a diet, working on her self, realizing it’s now or never. Sabrina recorded 6 good-to-go songs and shot a video that would be out of discussion months ago. But now, she was ready. It was the biggest and longest 4 months of her life. Dealing with life, dealing with music and growing up.  She came back to Hollywood and filled Avalon September 19th on her release of “Luv Drug and “U make me(loll)”, made Krave in Vegas speechless and she keeps on with her thing. What’s next for KingQueen? We only know that this force is filled with surprises and it never lets you down. KingQueen has one mission. She wants to be your slave. She wants to be your show. Your entertainment. After two days, she reached 20.000 views on her music video “Luv Drug”. And she will keep on rising since it’s all she knows and ever knew how to do. WHAT IS SHINE ON?

ShineOn is a unique grassroots music showcase. This is not your typical venue but specifically designed for the unsigned indie artist, band or musician on one stage. The best local unsigned artists will be able to showcase their talents in the: Hip Hop, R&B, Urban, Rock and Dance categories, in front of conference attendees and a panel of music industry experts to gain maximum exposure at a minimal cost. The showcase will be held bi monthly at the Celebrity Centre, 5930 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, California. (AGEP does not have an association with Scientology only leasing the venue as a community service.) The event will be "Live" e-video streamed across the country, with many music industry executives in the audience, to review the solo and band performances and possibly offer additional career opportunities.

The reality:

There are aspiring independent artists eager to be discovered for their talents in every aspect which involves music and in so doing, a desire for an expansive career. There are others however, unmotivated at the present time, but have the gifts and the talent which remains undiscovered. Once the performances of these artists are recognized by members of the music industry, this realization can make a big difference in their lives. AGEP helps to choose the’ best of the best’ by listening to music on line and by attending showcases or live performances where the talents of the artists can be heard. ShineOn is a program designed to help an artist understand the music industry and how to become motivated by instilling a sense of responsibility for their careers. We provide marketing tools which allow a ‘hands on’ experience from the ground up. Simply selling tickets is an example of our program. AGEP wants to reach out to all independent artists and go-getters to become involve in opportunities which were not available before.

Solution:

AGEP’s goal is to provide an outlet where independent artists will have the ability to perform live in front of major labels, booking agencies, management and production companies, music attorneys and others in the industry. Their participation in seeking the newest members in music will help create the chances of becoming discovered without the agony many young artists face in becoming recognized.

Score:

The artist will be scored by the panelists on singing technique, performance, creativity, audience connection, comfort, appearance and creativity. Panelists will provide comments on each artist as appropriate.

Conclusion:

The business of music is ever changing. Satellite radio, companies such as Apple with the iPod™ and the iTunes™ music store, and the internet in general have leveled the industry playing field for the local and regional artist. The major labels are forced to cut budgets and strip away the layers of redundant positions. These cuts allow companies to run a much leaner operation just to stay competitive. With the cooperation of major industry, panelists and artists, this will help cut costs and open doors of opportunities in every aspect of the music business industry.

This is the second part of a two-part series. This session is focused on the artist by becoming noticed in the music industry. Panelists will discuss the elements of performance; opportunity and building artist level exposure as a follow up. The part 2 date will be on July 15th.

Shine On! "Artists Meet The Industry" Showcase DVD is now available on a full-Length of a 2.5 hours non-stop with no commercials interruption. Donate here

TESTIMONIAL:

A team effort from our Industry Panelists has made ShineOn! become a reality. I can’t thank them enough for participating in a huge way. The results have been amazing. Since May 20th, 2010, four artists are now waiting signature from various record labels.  As we move forward, I'm optimistically looking towards the future and ShineOn! Part 2 on July 15th. Together, we can make a difference for undiscovered talent AND help achieve the industry’s goal by providing a house where they can claim their artists. A Revolution of the music starts today. It’s about time. Cheers to the industry panelists!”
